The Kurds have certainly cooperated with us more. I wouldn't be opposed to them having their own place, but there seems to be a lot of politics keeping us from supporting that. As far as democratizing the country as a whole, I believe Iraq was chosen because it was more secular. Iraq is the heart of our strategy for the war on terror. We want to culturally change the entire region starting there. I've made the joke before, but what we want for them to do is put in beer stores and cable TV. If we can accomplish that, we've won. * * *
