I saw the guy on TV. You know how he skipped around the issue of those who support a death penalty? (You know, that pesky little commandment: 'though shalt not kill.') He pretended that he'd misheard the question, and that it was only asked about conduct in wars. As far as he was concerned, the Church's posture was that it's OK for the State to kill people. (Gee, I wonder if anyone checked with the Pope to see if he'd secretly changed the Church's tenets?)
