I have never understood how everyone can get rich at the same time? I always saw wealth and power like the tides, rising and falling. But it does seem, in this new world of ours, anything is possible and economic tides can come in forever, of course, with the blessing of banks. One can print as much as one likes, borrow as much as one likes, buy as much as one likes, produce as little as as one feels --- and proclaim a permanent "boom".

So there is only day --- no night. Only summer --- no winter. Only cause -- no effect. Through the medium of paper money, Man has defeated Nature. Man has discovered the secret of permanent wealth. Man is truly god. Or is it paper money?!

These days I think one has to be very circumspect about what one says. Tempers are easily frayed.
