The point is that the items can be purchased from any large chemical supply house, in any country, by anybody with the cash. A large supply of chemicals means nothing of military significance.

One little old rusty Sarin shell means nothing of military significance.

If the day comes where a significant cache of WMD are found, we won't have to fret about the story getting wide play, I promise you.

The press has been burned too many times and they're a little shy about this stuff right now, and I don't blame them.

How many "big stories" about Iraq have turned out to be nothing but hype and forgeries?
