I think the Kerry people would have denied it if they'd been airbrushed in. People's children, even grown ones, can do all sorts of things. I don't blame Kerry for his daughter's poor judgment in wearing that dress (even if it is they way they dress at Cannes) any more than I blame Bush for his daughter's rubbing her whatnot on that guy who has the warrants out for his arrest, or for wrapping her legs around him in public, either. And she was drunk, after all...

Actually, when the scandals about the Bush girls broke, I was completely sympathetic and would never have said a word. The truth is, it is not his fault, and not Laura's, and people shouldn't use the candidate's children in that way.

I was, of course, making that very point to the RWers who have no such scruples. They're the type who insulted poor Chelsea Clinton, who seems to have been a very nice girl, for her looks. To do that to a CHILD is unbelievable, but on the right, it was common. Rush Limbaugh ridiculed 12 (twelve!) year old Chelsea's looks absolutely viciously on the air -- the little girl wasn't pretty enough to suit him, so he would refer to her as "the White House dog."
