Did Saddam attack on 9-11? Answer is no. Did Al Qaeda strike on 9-11? Answer is yes. Therefore we should attack Al Qaeda.

Why did we draw resources away from this primary function to Iraq?

Remember when the administration was touting that they could take out Saddam and pay for the reconstruction with Iraq's oil revenues? Flip flop.

Meanwhile bin Laden plans for the future while we have left the Homeland unprotected.

A true presidential leader would have taken the following steps:

1. All out war on Al Qaeda...capture bin Laden.

2. Work with our allies to keep rouge states like Iraq and Iran in check. Increase diplomatic pressure on these rogue nations. Building the case against the leadership and for democracy in these countries. Use military force if necessary. Build a broad coalition.

3. Simultaneously with (2.) above improve Homeland Security, ports and borders. Build intelligence capabilities. The war on terror will be won by improving intelligence gathering and management.

So far our effort has been totally lopsided on the war in Iraq. This has not stopped Al Qaeda, and has left us vulnerable to terrorist attacks. We have underestimated the amount of troops needed, the amount of money needed and the amount of time needed to accomplish the Bush goals in Iraq...in fact the occupation could go on for many years. This action of Iraq is now our baby...we're going to have to staff the effort and pay for it...big mistake.

And you call me a dumbass?
