About the same length as the US - Mexico border.

What is the terrain?

It varies from flat to hilly to mountainous. The more north you go along that border the more rugged it gets.

Now tell me how many troops were in the entire country at the time in question.

Not nearly enough...resources were siphoned off to Iraq.
