I understand that anger is the initial reaction and anger produces rants. Sometimes, after the initial flurry, someone isolates and reports rational argument from under all of that. The problem is that folks for whom the anger doesn't resonate but are looking to understand despair of finding anything rational in the outrage so we write it off as mindless and move on. All that thrashing and yelling is not helpful for the cause. The name calling and scapegoating and the red herrings aren't helpful. A little think-first, then write would be more constructive. Unfortunately, the medium does not lend itself to that. Pity.
