Americas strength always lies in the middle and with civility. Some of my best friends are liberals and i am not about to toss those friendships away because of political disagreements. But on the polar edges of right and left live folks who are more interested in hearing themselves speak than actually influencing others.
Bush is a captive of these kind of folks. His COO has f****d up. He was always an arrogant sob but when he was successful we could live with it. But when he fails, he certainly must be held to account.
His EVP, has transformed himself from the face of confidence and competenece in 2000 to the real sneerer in the bush admin. You think many moderates would feel happy today with Cbeney as president?
His PR dept headed by Rove is running a campaign that preaches to the converted. But what about getting above the 40-45% number? Not a crumb.
Time to talk to dad, rather than commune with God. Time for some new blood before the election because after the election Bush is moving to status as private citizen and Texas rancher. This will be a regrettable outcome for a man who led the nation so well after 9/11. Mike

We have to effect a break between the true believers and the solid citizens. We can't let the true believers control.

FTR, would Ted Kennedy be a "true believer" or a "solid citizen"?
