You know, I think you're on to something. Who benefited from this sudden release of a "terrorist" slaying of an American? It certainly wasn't the terrorists. You know, if this was a psy-op by the CIA/military, it's a pretty damn poor one. I mean, they obviously didn't put any time or effort into making it appear realistic. At least they could have hired some local Iraqis to stand behind him, wearing more traditional gear, posing with more realistic Middle Eastern body language, and for gods sake at least buy another chair to use than the one in the prison abuse photos. I don't know if those chairs are all over Badhdad, but it seems awfully odd that Nick Berg was sitting in the same chair as the ones depicted in prison abuse photos.
