I actually hate these attempts to foist a liberal arts core on science guys. I know all the arguments - well rounded etc, but we long ago dropped science and math requirements on soft degrees. So why the double standard? Who is the "we" in that sentence, John. All the core programs I know about include math and science requirements. The usual thing is to take two (number varies) science courses and/or math; just as it is for the humanities and social sciences. What's the double standard?
