The federal government is turning into the monster that you always feared, all knowing, running rough shod over the constitution, over-regulating, overpending, all under a Republican adminstration, a supposedly conservative adminstration interested in getting government off the people's backs. I don't see how any Libertarian worth of any credibility could not look at what has transpired in Washington, DC over the past three years and not be uterly horrified. Harry Browne, the Libertarian Presidential candidate numerous times, certainly is and writes eloquently about how wrong-headed our current policies are. I mean, the Libertarians have spent three decades fighting against expansive government, warning us of it's impending evil, and here in 2004 we have exactly what they warned us about. We have a BIG BROTHER government that has reserved the right to conduct warrentless searches, our once great Republic is just a shell of what it once was with democracy fading by the year, militarism is on the rise, the government overtaxes and regulates all in the name of the most powerful amongst us. We certainly arne't moving towards Libertarianism, if there's any form of government that we're progressing towards it's facism and authoritarianism.
