Thanks h0db. I never considered myself conservative or liberal. I've never even much time thinking about it. I like not being part of a "group" and I've always been registered as an independent.

I'm not sure where I would fit in on the conservative/liberal scale.

I own guns and wouldn't want to see additional restrictions on ownership, other than with respect to those that restrict the ownership of assault weapons. (Personally, of course, I think I should be able to own an assault weapon, it's all those "other" people that should be restricted from such ownership. eg see Bill.) I believe that some people forfeit the right to live and should get the death penalty; mostly because I think that their surviving victims won't get peace until they are "gone." I believe in welfare; and in welfare reform. I believe in a progressive tax system and I don't mind paying taxes to help others who make less, but I'm not happy about paying taxes for the benefit of those who make substantially more and pay a smaller percentage. I believe in affirmative action. I don't trust a powerful government or the local police to do the "right thing." I do trust the American court system. I think abortion is a devastating procedure for a person to undergo but I support the legalization of it as a constitutionally protected right.

I guess I'll have to stay an independent.
