The more I learn about the UN the more disgusted I am that this country is even any part of it.

I remember buying UNICEF Christmas cards in the 60's. Came to my senses in the 70's. We have no chance of cutting the UN's power as long as the majority of the American people respect it. That respect is dropping now. The "Oil for Fraud" scandal could be the nail in the coffin.

The UN will never go away completely. The third world loves it. But a "super" organization on top of it that replaces it is possible with a change in sentiment here, and a President who is willing to lead on it.

Bush might do it next term if the scandal is deep enough. But I doubt it.
