Let's rephrase your question so that it sounds less fanatical: "When is it OK to perform an abortion?" Theoretically, always, since the survival and well-being of the mother is more important than that of the fetus. In practice, doctors will not perform an abortion on the woman's request after the third month or so of pregnancy, unless the fetus has severe defects or there is a medical condition necessitating the procedure for the wellbeing of the pregnant woman. Tests showing birth defects are generally done in the 16th week of pregnancy, at which time parents should be able to decide whether or not to bring to this world a severely retarded kid who won't even live to see his second birthday. Here is some statistics for you: 91% of abortions are done in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, and only 4% after 16 weeks. (Tests showing birth defects are not done until the 16th week) Only .9% of abortions are performed after 20 weeks, and none after 24 weeks. Would you agree with me that you look like a raving lunatic in your previous post talking about baby murders after 20th week? Trying to outlaw a legal practice essential to health and wellbeing of women, because 0.9% of the abortions happen after 20 weeks? As I said before, you need to know women a bit better to understand that no woman is going to carry a baby for five months, distort her body into a water bag, and then have an abortion because she feels like it. Statistics support this quite well. So, really, I don't know what you are talking about. Fortunately, I don't even have to - you will never get to decide when us women want to have a baby.
