Inconsistency in WSJ report on AMAT revenue...

The company, the largest producer of tools for making computer chips, said revenue for its fiscal second quarter ended May 2 rose 82% from the year-earlier period. In the current quarter, however, Applied predicted more modest revenue growth of about 5% over the second period.<

How does one compare y-o-y to q-to-q revenue?

Brian, looks like the analyst are again all over the place regarding AMAT and the semi's. Will they ever get it right? They have upgrades after the movement up and downgrades after the movement down. IMO, the analyst do not have any idea where things are going. Gottfried, Big Buck, and this site have the best projects. The analyst need to be monitoring this SI site.
