Well no one could design a more complicated scenario in this world than the middle east.

I was watching a program on the history channel a few days ago about the Middle Eastern Campaign of Great Britain against the Ottoman Empire.

Two colonial powers fighting over land and people who were barely mentioned. And at the end of the war arbitrarily partitioned and colonialized.

3 Major religions who have their holy shrines in Israel.

And divisiveness that goes back to the invasions by Europe by Christians during Europe's Dark ages.

Hardly a scenario that lends itself to "Good Guys" vs. "Bad Guys".

Like I said that's the difference between liberals and conservatives. The conservatives wish to simplify a situation that will take years to sort out. Only patience will end the violence in the middle east. Neither side seems to have much of that.
