The kinds of issues we deal with here are difficult on various levels. For one thing, it is hard for people to admit that there are dilemmas requiring actions that would otherwise be condemned in order to avert a greater evil. They will always insist that there was an alternative. This is wrong, but it is a result of living in a great nation where we are somewhat spoiled by ease, and of being part of a "can do" culture, that tends to expect slick ways out of problems. It is even sometimes appealing, insofar as we tire of being hard- headed, and would wish that there were a little more innocence in the world. I do not wish to bash those who are simply not ready to learn how hard the world can be, and I prefer to sound people out rather than instantly deciding what their problems are.........
