eco - Sincere AMD'er You may think about detaching your emotions from your investments. Basketball, baseball and football teams are great things to root for but investments aren't the place for sports fans. The historical knock on management is right on. New management may be different but it takes time to erase a bad reputation.

How can I reply so that my friend doesn't lose all confidence in my investment prowess? What makes for the greatest opportunities in the market is when a significant change happens that you are able to see and understand before others. In AMD, they did have a history of poor management. That has changed. You can site all the examples that cause you to believe it. It takes time for the market to come to the realization that a change has occurred, but by the time everyone knows, there's no longer any money to be made from it. You have to act early, and you have to be right.
