"duration" is a very well defined term and you said you know what it is

An ARM is a mortgage but if you want to change it to CMO traunche or CMBS traunche or RMBS traunche or any other MBS or it's derivative then the result would still be the same. (That is without changing the rest of the problem)

So what is the duration?
