Zeev,

Thanks for your balanced post. I know there is no simple way out. And I understand it must be hard to read almost weekly that another bus with civilians is blown apart.

I hope you understand that it is also no fun to see how the Palestinians are treated (and killed) by Israel.

I'm encouraged by the fact that more and more Israelis like to withdraw from Gazaa. I encourage every step to break out of a vicious circle of hate, killings and violence by both sides.

I also am encouraged that the UN has signed a resolution today comdemning the attacks on the Palestinian demonstration. 14-0. US did not veto, something that we haven't seen for a very, very long time.

I also didn't like Arafat's tone a few days ago.

The reason I posted the letter about four or five times because the only argument that 'what his name' came up with was 'they kill innocent Israelian children, so everything the IDF does is right'.

I'm against suicide-attacks on civilians, but using this single argument as a mantra kills every dialog.

I also believe that the IDF makes mistakes, commit warcrimes (sometimes), but I also believe it (usually) is not policy.

Having said that, I have always lived in a country without war. That makes it easy for me to judge.

Regards,

Paul
