Atrocities were very commonplace in Vietnam. In fact they were part of the everyday program.

Half the war was one big atrocity. We didn't have surgical bombing in those days, remember? We used to napalm entire forests and villages. Free fire zones were regions where there were basically no rules of engagement. Kerry served in a free fire zone.

We also could not tell friend from foe so we had to shoot first ask questions later.

We had something called the Phoenix Program which was used to assassinate suspected Viet Cong. It was US terrorism. The favored method of killing was be-heading or disembowelment. Be-heading because in the Buddhist faith no head means no nirvana. That was a CIA run operation using SEALS and other special ops. Hundreds maybe thousands of suspected enemy were killed that way. We'll never really know how many.

The brass put the troops in that position. It wasn't the troops fault. That was Kerry's point, that things had gotten so crazy we were out of control and had lost our moral way. Of course he was 100% right. That war needed to end and he helped end it savings thousands of lives.

Kerry has never denied any heritage. Prove that lie with a quote. I dare you.
