My guess is that Peters has been reading Wretchard.

They're both right. We have a new enemy, and a new form of warfare. This is highjacking our own airliners and flying them into our own buildings, on a whole new level.

We have utterly failed in this arena. We have failed to even recognize the battlefield.

We have to speed the kill.

I can hear every man and woman in the IDF saying, "Welcome to our world."

Everytime you want to see how this will play out, you can look at the Israeli/Pal practice run for the answer. The answer is, the stalemates will continue until the terrorists inflict enough pain so that we don't care about the press. Then we will impose a news blackout and do what we think is necessary. Then the media will howl about another "massacre of Jenin".

I'm still hoping it will play differently in Iraq as we hand power over to Iraqi forces, because the vast majority of Iraqis, even the Sunnis, want nothing to do with this treadmill.
