Yes, I know. It's the finger wagging that puts me off.

You missed the fact that "hypocrite" is the job description of a politician. Plus, all of his audience gambles and sees nothing wrong with it.

I don't think so. Talk radio works for progressives, whose views don't get much airing on the networks either. But these people don't need a new radio station, they get lots of air on various NPR talk shows.
