This was back in the late 50s. A local guy had bought a house that had been built on the Key by the guy who posed for the drawing on the Arm & Hammer baking soda box. It came with 2 cabins he rented out. Free lobster went with the cabin as many of the traps would break free and end up on the beach.

On day I saw a big square thing on the beach that had a string. Yep, I pulled the string and it started growing. Turned out to be a 38 man covered life raft from the USN. Coast Guard came and got it.
