Well, I must concede that Kodak may be in the number one spot in recent digital camera sales. But one reason for that may be a special promotional program where purchasers of Dell computers could get a Kodak digital at a bargain price. Until recently, Kodak's digital investment has not been profitable, and the amount of profit it currently generates, if any, is very small in comparison to their film business.

A more revealing statistic may be the comparison of sales of equivalent models of Kodak, Sony, Canon, Nikon, and Olympus, particularly in the $300 to $600 price range. That's currently the sweet spot. In that range, Sony may still be the leader.
