HI Sam,

I have the opposite opinion.

You design a machine to meet the specification Intel specifies.

You give them a deal on the machine which hopefully recovers your R&D.

Then you hope it is embraced by the rest of the industry and that is when market share growth and a return on investment is achieved.

When you build a machine that complies with the specs created by the leader - you give him the break(very confidentially), as they lead you to the leadership role.

Of course not! Some inkling may be derived by following shipments and revenue recognition.

These guys have been in the same boat for a long time and expect to continue for a while. They all pull in the same direction, so they probably don't play short term games.
