I don't think they were fishing for a sound bite. I think that they want to get into the head of this president. What he thinks of his performance, how he can do better, what should we do differently, what has been learned and how we will go forward.

The press is asking these questions because the president is very close mouthed about what we've done, what the results are, how he interprets the results so far and what he sees for the future.

I guess he did tell us today what he sees for the future, and that is more blood shed. Now he's considering sending more troops to Iraq.

Many people feel that we are undermanned in Iraq...been undermanned since the Mission Accomplished banner was flown.

I think this is what the press is looking for. Assessment of the past and direction for the future. We get very little of that from Bush.
