Growing up Jewish in NYC reading the liberal NY Post then run by Dorothy Shiff was a must. Great sports section and great liberal op ed folks too--much better than the dowd and krugman team at the Times--Max Lerner, James Wechler, Murray Kempton come to mind. Now occasionally when i go out for a bagel for breakfast i buy the now conservative NY Post rag(Times too hard to manipulate with a bagel in hand), also with great op eds---Ralph Edwards, Taheri and still a very good sports section.
