Elamt do you know why around Calgary Alberta it is not really possible to grow apple trees in any quantity ? It doesn't stay consistently cold enough in winter :o) Oh yes it gets friggin' cold but I think it's rather Darwinian... not fit for the less viable of the species LOL... I'll let you know when I get the AC cranked... won't be long now..

FYI: some temps in warmest months...
Montréal July 26.2 15.4
Ottawa July 26.4 15.1
Toronto July 26.5 17.6
Winnipeg July 26.1 13.4
Regina July 26.3 11.9

Now for the rest of the world warmest months...
Mexico City May 26 13
Beijing July 30 22
Cairo July 34 22
London July 22 13
Los Angeles August 24 18
Moscow, Russia July 22 13
Paris July 24 15
Rio de Janeiro Feb 33 24
Rome July 28 19
Sydney January 26 19

Vancouver August 21.7 12.9
Victoria July 21.8 10.7

man need an extreme costly life-supporting system You have more poor people in those warm places eh! no incentive... easy survival why strive for more ?

Maybe you are correct and Canada didn't want you so wherever you went they lowered the thermostat LOL..

>>From there across the mountin range accross the plains untill you get to the Great Lakes is Artic. << I am a train buff and there's a must for people like me called Spiral Towers (below the kicking horse pass). The memory of three thundering diesel locomotives coming out of the tunnel, while, one horizon lower, the cars at the tail end were still entering the looping tunnel, still warms my heart...

The train was bringing the empty granary cars from Vancouver to the middle West. Probably the guys running it knew what they were doing - no Arctic for them, just tons and tons of grain to haul. Again and again.
