I meant to get back to you on the VP post. Which VPs and Presidents for that matter were ready for the job when elected. Got me thinking.

If one goes back only a short period, say to the beginning of the 70s, it strikes me the governors who were elected president--Carter, Reagan, Clinton, and GWB--were the least well prepared. That, of course, leaves only Bush 41 as well prepared. Of the VPs, only Mondale, Gore, and Cheney, of those elected strike me as well prepared when they first go into office. That leaves Bush the father in 80, and whatshisface in 88 as not prepared.

Do you disagree?
