My older son, Ben, graduated HS with an IB (International Baccalaureate) degree, and his brother is working on his now. Ben says that the thing he liked the best about IB was learning to think, and learning to write.

He did get a lot of that from his parents, and his grandmother, who used to be a proofreader, but we are quite pleased with the local high school.

High schools, like politics, are local. It's meaningless to generalize, in my opinion.
