can grow bananas in Regina and Winnipeg. Where did I say bananas ? or any facsimile ? You are getting too serious on me here elmat.. but FWIW we are members at the Toronto zoo and go year round. The indoor exhibits are great... lots of banana trees :o)

the country was like a deep freezer, only possible hospitable along the US border. well yes and no.. the part where many of the Canadians live South Ontario for example is quite a bit warmer than the remainder of the US territory along that substantive border but yes we do cling to the border for obvious reasons... it too damn cold up there ... :o) and of course yes the 140 million well now who really took you seriously ... honestly ... ? a little bombast though is fun you know... it adds spice :o)

As the Canada rode the coat tail Agreed and you may have noticed me bemoaning the fact more than a few times. Our previous Prime Minister (who also had a lot of faults) at least had the foresight to build relationships in Asia... the current king at I fear will be too close to the US... 80% of our trade is with the US... ooops... yeah that sure is problematic...

For your information I drunk beer with the unemployed software programmer on Halloween 1986. Gee elmat do lazy people and bad things seek you out LOL.. 1986 and can't get a programming job I can only agree with you that that fellow was USELESS I came to Toronto in 1986 and they were throwing jobs at me and as you know I'm also from osmosis university so it's not like I had a mile of school credentials to open doors... only experience, salesmanship and work ethic ;o) Remember we have social programs for such individuals ... it's kind of like... well very much like living in a warm climate where finding good shelter is less critical :o) Of course unlike a warm climate which benefits all who live in it social programs reach are limited... What kind of beer was it ? We Canuckies have many good ones... even more now that micro breweries took off big..
