The say this previous message is time-barred, if that is not enough this should be about my country more than enough to suggest what I stand for....

The ink of the scholar is more precious than the blood of the martyr.
-- Prophet Mohammad

Failed Islamic revolutions in Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan have bewildered the Islamic world which is going through a shock therapy at its fringes with fragmentation process and failed nation states, foremost amongst mentioned is Afghanistan, hypocritically representing a model of "successful" welfare state; implementing true Islam, where women are let to die during breached pregnancies in the absence of female doctors (which are very few), as male doctors are prohibited to perform caesarian sections on female patients.

On democracy and freedom if this is not enough from a man with a face, nothing would suffice!

Another post from 1999!

Why the silence when it comes to undemocratic actions by the government of your country in the past 2-3 years.

my country is not Iraq. In Iraq such a dissent is and was punishable by death

Your country HANGED the ELECTED leader of your nation, Zulfikhar Ali Bhutto in 1979 - and that was not so long ago. He was hanged by another one of the army generals who usurped power.

How many instances have occurred during the past century, anywhere in the world, where the elected leader of the country has been killed by a subsequent government that usurped power in a military coup? I am not referring to assassinations which can be the act of deranged or disgruntled individuals or groups. This was the deliberate brutal action of the dictator who overthrew Bhutto, despite widespread international pleas and protests.

Saddam killed his opponents without any pretense of a trial. Bhutto was sentenced to death by a kangaroo court in your country. Help your readers understand the subtle difference between the two situations and the system of justice in your country vs other totalitarian regimes.

On July 5 the military, led by General Muhammad Zia ul-Haq, staged a coup. Zia relieved Bhutto of power, holding him in detention for a month. Upon his release, Bhutto traveled the country amid adulatory crowds of PPP supporters. In September the army arrested Bhutto again on charges of authorizing the murder of a political opponent in 1974. Bhutto insisted that the allegations were false, but the high court in Lahore, packed with Zia's supporters, convicted Bhutto and imposed the death sentence. The Supreme Court approved the judgment by a 4-3 vote, and despite international protests, Bhutto was hanged in April 1979.
