"...I also have a real hard time having much sympathy for the detainees..... You cast a broad net just then. Some of the detainees were very likely innocent civilians. Some were even likely good guys working for the cause. Some, of course, were also despicable mercenaries working for a dictator wannabee. We (a few of our soldiers) screwed up. I don't consider that at all a reflection of the over all operation. In fact, I would be amazed if we got out of this without getting a little bloody in the process. Part of the honor I give to our leaders is that when called upon, they stood up, admitted we had a problem and are taking responsibility for cleaning it up.
