And let them try to prove otherwise. And those tortures that seem to be cropping up along with the dead bodies that died of "natural causes" when their systems weren't able to take the suffocation, beatings and stress; why those were simply the work of a few bad apples that somehow misinterpreted the rules and acted on their own. Too bad no one acted to stop them. And there really is lots of good news in Iraq if only the media would print it. For instance, just yesterday three Iraqis welcomed us with open arms but all the media wanted to talk about was more of the killings, the torture, the polls showing that nearly all the Iraqis wanted us out, the cost of the war, the number of American dead, the likely failure of our "democratization" decree and silly stuff like that. Go figure. And we are creating a new government for the Iraqis and it WILL be a "democratically chosen" one too, even if it's not a democratic one and even if the rights of women and minorities is not protected, and even if it provides a breeding ground for terrorists, and even if it fosters Islamic extremism in that part of the world. But no one's talking about that, are they, all they're interested in is the bad news. And "mission accomplished" only meant that the ship was coming home and Saddam's government was destroyed. And besides the ship's crew hung that sign anyway, even though the White House designed it, paid for it and provided it. And the wmds were there. And Iraq was a dangerous threat to world stability and to the safety and security of Americans. Just think what would have happened if he'd unleashed those nuclear, chemical and biological weapons on our cities and killed millions of us. And we're not trying to control Iraqi oil, we're there for the good of the Iraqi people. We just happen to think it's good for them if we spend a lot of our resources and manpower protecting "their" oil ministry and "their" oil resources while they get looted, shot and assaulted. And the people killing our soldiers are just Saddam-loving dead enders, foreign terrorists and others who simply hate freedom. Because hey, freedom is such an evil thing. These things must be true; after all the government said they were. And that's good enough for you, isn't it Bill? Hint; the true believer one-liners aren't persuasive. The obvious fact that you accept what you read without critical thinking shouldn't lead to your assumption that others are similarly gullible.
