Point is this:

Civilians don't wear uniforms, the Geneva Convention does apply to civilians. Many of the people tortured at Abu were civilians.

Geneva Convention does not apply to non-uniformed combatants.
As for your conention about the people who were allegedly mistreated at Abu, got a link about what their background was and whether they were detained while in possession of AK-47s, RPGs, etc?
