LOL!! You give more credit to the UN, France, Germany and Russia than our own country. Annan's son is under investigation and you have the audacity to lend credibility to the UN before the US! How clean do you expect those records to be when it's currently believed that the UN itself was making money on the oil for food scandal?

Actually, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. The fundamental difference between you and me is that I'm willing to accept the possibility that hidden motivations stemming from abuses of the oil for food program and secret deals with SH were part of the driving force for the actions of France, Germany, et. al. I hardly think that's a far-fetched possibility. You prefer to believe that we failed to make our case and alienated the UN and various members such that the blame is entirely ours for their stonewalling. Implicit in your articulated position is the notion that whatever official reasons these countries gave for their positions were 100% true. Unlike you, I'm disinclined to give that much blind faith to folks like Chirac and that dood in Germany. Have you also argued that the Bush Administration at large lied about the WMD intelligence? (I don't remember whether you took that particular position or not.) If you have,, why is it so easy to believe that our government outright lied whereas the European dissenters are founts of sweetness, truth and light?
