Have you read Eric Hoffer's the True Believer? Excellent book. I recommended it to my high school students- and many of them are reading it. Forewarned, is forearmed. It's a short book that everyone should read, although I suppose True Believers won't want to read it...but for everyone else, there's: amazon.com

Excellent posts. It's no wonder that the Bill's and the Sig's of this thread of resorting to pathetic one-liner putdowns. They've learned from their idols...when you have no defense, try to destroy the messenger. I also think that as the writing on the wall in Iraq becomes clearer, the true believers are becoming more desperate. At this point, I suspect that their holding onto their positions is more about pride and embarrassment than anything else...
