Nice strawman. Lugar (or Kerry) never said they would negotiate with terrorists.

Quoting: story.news.yahoo.com

He (Lugar) said the country must "commit itself to a sustained program of repairing and building alliances, expanding trade, pursuing resolution to regional conflicts, supporting democracy and development worldwide, and controlling weapons of mass destruction."

If not, he said, "we are likely to experience acts of catastrophic terrorism that would undermine our economy, damage our society, and kill hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people."

The Indiana lawmaker called foreign policy "the neglected sibling of national security policy."

"To win the war against terrorism, the United States must assign U.S. economic and diplomatic capabilities the same strategic priority that we assign to military capabilities," Lugar said.

"The United States, as a nation, simply has not made this commitment," he said.

Bush should quit campaigning and get on Air Force I to go around to our key allies and beg/ask/jawbone them into helping with the cause to bring peace to Iraq. So long as we're doing this alone, we're doomed. But Bush only cares about raising money and doing photo ops. He's really AWOl on diplomacy, accountability and responsibility.

Your post is silly. You act if there are are some mythical "terrorists" out there who can be negotiated with. What a crock. Nobody is talking about negotiating the enemy, but with our former friends whom Bush has alienated.
