I've read the first two books in the Quicksilver cycle, and now am looking forward to the third. Full of fascinating trivia about the era circa Charles II - William of Orange, so far. Both men are important characters, as are Isaac Newton, Leibnitz, Louis XIV, Barbary pirates, and we learn much about the history of calculus, coffee, paper money, and wootz.

Wootz is probably the thing that intrigued me the most.

I am just amazed by the Author, Neal Stephenson. Push him all I can. Volokh Blog.

Just got the new one out of the library, The Confusion. On your recommendation.

If my attention wanders as much with this one as it did with its predecessor, I'll quit reading your recommendations. So take that. ;-)
