You'll like this site : home.inreach.com The inherent and innate grace behind the universalist "idea" or the value of a certain transcendant "ethic" (Humanism) has its time in eternity always ...as it waits to be discovered yet always presnt in every human being(self) . And has nothing to do with the sincerity of the man (or the religion) that expresses it . (borrowed that last part from a great satiricist) Being religious has no more to do with being close to God , as does being an evolutionist or scientist has to do with being an atheist. Either all is God here and now (the source in the true self) , or nothing is ... but there is always "the self" or the seed that is there waiting. Ancient stuff that, what is called "perennial wisdom". All religion has this kernel of truth within it , when it escapes from out of the tribal & ethnic confines. , and Jesus had it to some degree. Sure glad you made it out of the lake of fires of hell....became more self-sufficient finally , less dependent on external paths ? Looked within ? Opened up to God ? Right knowledge , Right speech, Right action , Right intention/thought , Right effort , Right concentration (prayer) Right livelihood and Right mindfulness ?
