This particular comment was based on the 4,000 GW improvement noted by EEI in their weekly report.

Spark spreads are improving and electic prices are higher than many expected.

Clearly as long as the economy is growing the bottom is in for electric merchants. It may take another Summer or two before margins will start improving measurably IMO.

There are allot of factors at play, but I think the rise in coal prices caught many players by surprise. This on top of NG prices and I dont know who the best players are.
