<it does not distress you> Nadine and Bill are Tribalists. For them, only members of their own tribe (defined by a common culture, race, religion, and/or language) are human. To speak of the torture and murder of Muslims, sounds to them like talking about the torture and murder of cattle in a slaughter-house. To them, nothing done to Others can be evil. Nothing. They don't see it, don't feel it, can't imagine it. Tribalism is a suicidal ideology, in a world with nuclear and biological weapons.
