If you notice Nadine I said that "it's very plausible" that some were innocent.

It's always plausible I suppose, but I would still like to know why they were 'vacationing' in Afghanistan. As I recall, even listening to their families and lawyers there was no mention of humanitarian work, a claim they surely would have made much of it that had been plausible. It's pretty clear that were Islamists from the radical British mosques (which which they were affiliated I believe) who joined the jihad.
