I don't dismiss the events at Abu Ghraib as mere embarrassment.

I don't take either side's allegation of the facts as gospel.

Honestly, E, I don't expect you to reserve your judgment until more evidence comes out, but I think it's a wise thing to do.

As a lawyer, I am subjected daily to enormous, heaping, steaming piles of horseshit, from all sides, who try to convince me it's not horseshit.

My own clients do it to me, as well as the opposing parties, and even the lawyers add their own piles of horseshit to the stack.

The real truth is very much smaller, but it's in there. Most of the time the truth is actually somewhere in between what the parties are telling you.

I counsel patience, and doing one's best to discount bias.

<<Which of the abuses I mentioned do you doubt? Jumping on hands and feet? Electricity? Beating to death (ha ha ha)? Sodomy with light bulbs? Feces-coating? Smothering? Hanging by a fork lift from a rope? Threats to harm family members? >>

Jeeze, you sound like my bookie.
