Well ... I am not that far out yet.

Small chance imo.

Internet is one reason. The greatest development yet. Ubiquitous.

For all the things we do wrong te, we (the US) do a lot of things right. Vietnam worked itself out. Not too cleanly but it did.

I tend to think a lot of things going on here will too. It will take a bit but they will. I think there are one hell of lot of adjustments going on today, as we integrate globally. Unfortunately there are ups and downs.

It is easy to focus on the negatives. Debt is one that always comes up. How many in the same vein mention all the cash MS has? Is not that a positive of the opposite twist? In fact a whole host of Nasdaq companies have very little debt. Portions of our energy sector are in good shape.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar (a well known American Muslim) was interviewed in the latest Newsweek issue, re his latest history book. Very impressive, and my opinion of Kareem has moved up several notches. It was always okay by the way. I think I am going to buy his book and read it. And while I am on that ... the US managed to make it through the racial period in flying colors as well imo. Many other countries of recent have practiced genocide, or Israel tactics (walls). We did neither.

I have read a lot of war history which has involved politics of various sorts. No other country in this world has as good of a record as we do, re morality and those kinds of things. Not even close. We have some blemishes today re Irag and this prisoner business, but I have a lot of faith in our system and its ability to cleanse itself and move on.

I have not been a big voter. I am going to vote this election, without a doubt.

OT<<"In other words, you can adjust to your economy not by letting the value of the stock market or financial assets fall, but you can use warfare and organized crime to liquidate and steal whatever it is you need to keep the game going. And that’s the kind of Orwellian scenario whereby you can basically keep this thing going, but in a way that leads to a highly totalitarian government and economy … corporate feudalism.">>

Yes....or put more simply, "The Matrix HAS you, tooearly!"<G/NFG>
