Then why are there so remarkably few foreign terrorist acts on our shores? There have been only two, both committed by the same guy (bin Laden). It's not like Europe in the 70's, with bombs exploding every week on the London subway and the Paris cafes.

I'm continually amazed by the lack of terrorist activity in this country. And I agree we are overdue.


I'd have to say we've done a pretty good job in the law enforcement department since the first WTC bombing. But, Al Quaeda is patient, if nothing else. They have their own timetable and will wait until the right opportunity presents itself.

Timothy McVeigh proved how easy it is (was?) to load up a Ryder truck with diesel fuel and phosphate fertilizer. I don't doubt some enterprising terrorist somewhere in the US has a stock of phosphate and blue barrels just waiting for the right opportunity.

They would not hesitate to loose smallpox virus on us, and that thought is horrific.
