It appears that everyone is running for cover. Alliances are being broken and even redefined...and new ones being forged.

Interesting that Brahimi and Chalabi are "apparently" at odds in the selection of the interim government.

Hah! Anything you say about this situation of Iraq has to be prefaced with "apparently", as the truth has been sacrificed in this story a long time ago.

You never get rid of secrecy in government, even with Kerry. But I think it is a matter of degree. The degree of openness that you have.

With this administration you always get the feeling that there is a hidden agenda. The linkage of 9-11 and the war in Iraq was a propoganda coup for Bush and the neocons. The truck driver in Iraq, Hamil, the guy that escaped...when questioned about the treatment of prisoners in Iraq, said something to the effect that we needed to do what was necessary to see if they know anything about 9-11. That shows that the mind set that the war in Iraq was a quid pro quo for the events of 9-11 still persists.

One of the most important things to me is openness in government. With this administration we do not know what is really going on. I don't even think that the press has a clue. The smoke is so thick that the truth cannot be found. Clearly...the smoke screen is by design. Bush has not led this nation in this time of war. He has not clearly articulated the policies of this government. He always relies on the sound bites of "the war on terror" or "making America safe what ever it takes". These are not policy statements, they're slogans. The world is much more complex than that.

Maybe the American people are too simple for anything but slogans?
