re: 2 1/2 ton trucks

OT- it is the weekend

I used to drive those 2 1/2 ton trucks. They are great for off road hauling and some people claim they were partially responsible for allied victory in WWII. They are multi-fuel so can use anything available. Simple manual transmission.
But, I believe they have been replaced in the arsenal with 5 ton trucks with automatic transmission to haul more and ease the training. Is it possible the 2 1/2 ton trucks were intended for use as targets?

Also when we had to move our trucks across country we paid to have them moved on a flat bed truck. The tires are soft and mostly made for off-road use.
